Step-by-Step Medical Examination Process

  1. Pay Medical Test Fee & Book Appointment

    Pay the mandatory government medical examination fee (10 KD) and book an appointment via the Ministry of Health portal or Sahel app.

  2. Visit Designated Expatriate Health Examination Center

    Report to your assigned medical center (e.g. Shuwaikh, Sabhan, or Mishref) with your original passport, entry visa copy, and 2 passport-size photographs.

  3. Undergo Blood Test & Chest X-Ray

    Complete blood screening (testing for HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Filariasis, and Syphilis) followed by a chest X-ray to screen for pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB).

  4. Track Medical Fitness Results Online

    Results are uploaded directly to the Ministry of Interior system within 2 to 4 working days. You can check your fitness clearance on the MoH portal or Sahel app.

All newly arrived foreign expatriates entering Kuwait on Article 18 (Private Sector), Article 20 (Domestic Workers), or Article 22 (Family/Dependent) visas must pass the medical test to have their residency stamped. In addition, food handlers and salon workers must undergo periodic renewals.
The MoH tests for communicable diseases including HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and C, infectious pulmonary Tuberculosis (via chest X-ray), Filariasis, and Syphilis.
Results typically take 2 to 4 working days. Once cleared, the result is transmitted electronically to the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and PACI so your residency can be stamped.
